Hay Burr Inn Equine Rescue & Sanctuary is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. These are donation-based fundraisers to help with the care and upkeep of the horses and donkey.
Your DONATIONS are greatly appreciated for us to continue to rescue equines and give them a second chance to enjoy life and just be a horse.
For event information, please text or call 860.932.2092. We appreciate your understanding as we are all volunteers and on event day we are busy preparing and may not be able to answer or reply within the same day. If your question is regarding the event, please refer to the information here first. Thank you and we can't wait to see you.
Wear shoes or boots. NO sandals, flip flops, or heels. That includes children.
No smoking, vaping or alcohol on the property.
We respectfully request for you to leave your animals at home for cross-contamination concerns.
Please patiently wait for the red gate to open for entrance to the event. The gate is to keep the horses safe on the property.
We do offer private tours by appointment all year round for a donation.

Come for a magical Open House and meet our rescued horses & donkeys! Enjoy a fun woodland trail hunt for fairies and unicorns (wear closed-toe shoes!), providing donations supporting their care.
Join us at this memorial honoring Sakina, the serene Arabian mare who brought quiet grace and companionship to Hay Burr Inn, and Olive, the ever-present Irish Setter whose joyful spirit and unwavering loyalty were integral to daily life on the farm. Though their time with us varied, both left lasting paw and hoof prints on our hearts and will be deeply missed. Bring your memories to share.
